Hello. My close friends and I often play a pen and paper game we made called Alternate History. It is very fun and puts you in a leadership position. Basically, the GM tells each player a scenario in their fictional country. Each player (leaver) will tell the GM how they choose to respond to that scenario. After each response is given, the GM tells each player the result of their choice. The GM should be familiar with history, because the game often has to do with certain historical happenings. Each round the year advanced by a set number. So far we have played two types.
Colonialism: The player begins being the governor of one small colony of an old world power. The year starts in 1495 and advances five years each turn.
Modern Government: The player begins as absolute leader of a small island country which is rich in resources for the taking. Each player starts with NO resources or any way to contact other players or world powers. Later they can make trade alliance and diplomatic alliance. The year starts in 1900 and advances five years each turn.
I believe this fun game could be played on a forum. Would anybody be willing to try? I can answer any questions about this game.
